GET E-MAIL AND TEXT ALERTS

Sometimes due to extreme weather temperatures we issue an alert to help control the peak demand. We ask you to conserve electricity for a few hours in order to control the level of demand for electricity and ultimately the cost of power. When this occurs, you can help control this level by reducing lighting, adjusting your thermostat, and postponing major work that uses electricity, such as laundry and dishwashing.

In the past we had used radio ads to announce when peaks occur. However, as society grows more mobile and electronic – and we continue to seek more cost-effective and direct ways to announce when this is occurring – we’re asking for your help. We plan to send text messages to cell phones and/or e-mail announcements at peak times. Please allow us to contact you with your cell number and/or e-mail address (you can be assured they will not be sold or shared).  Thank you for helping us control your cost of power.
