The essence of this site is "grassroots" in action. Grassroots refers to people at a local level rather than at the center of major political activity. Related to our industry, grassroots refers to electric cooperative activists, such as trustees, presidents-CEOs and member-owners like you who take an active role in the political process to protect the co-op from harmful legislation and regulation, as well as to promote the value of co-op ownership to legislators.
