Water heater rebates

Electric water heaters are an excellent value. They're safe, clean, odorless and have fewer installation problems than other types. On top of all this, Hancock-Wood offers rebates to members who purchase electric water heaters. A free radio-controlled switch must be installed on the heater to receive the rebate. The switch allows Hancock-Wood to turn off a customer's water heater for a few hours during peak use times, which keeps all members' rates lower. Few members are even aware that the switches have been activated because they start the brief period with 52 gallons of hot water. Here's the rebate schedule:

New Homes: 50-70 Gal. Over 71 Gal.
Under 7 yr warranty $100 $200
7-10 yr warranty $200 $300
11 yr or more warranty $300 $400

Fuel-to-Elect. Change-Outs:

(including gas/propane/oil)

50-70 Gal. Over 71 Gal.
Under 7 yr warranty $100 $200
7-10 yr warranty $200 $300
11 yr or more warranty $300 $400
Elect.-to-Elect. Change-Outs: 50-70 Gal. Over 71 Gal.
Under 7 yr warranty $50 $100
7-10 yr warranty $100 $150
11 yr or more warranty $100

$150

Note:  If you pay less for your water heater than the rebate amount, you will receive the amount you paid.

Also, be sure to review product warranties before purchasing your water heater.  Some manufacturers do not allow installation of our switches; switch is required in order to receive a rebate.

How do I get my rebate?

1.  You must contact us at time of installation in order to qualify.

2.  After your tank has been installed, you must have a free radio-controlled switch added.  Email us at info@hwelectric.com, or use the Contact Us form to have this scheduled.

3.  Even if you already put the previous switch on your new tank on your own (in a tank replacement scenario), we must still visit your home and test the switch.
4.  At the time of your appointment, the service rep will then fill out the proper form in person, and then submit it for processing to get your rebate.
