Geothermal system rebates

We offer a $600 rebate on new geothermal system installations, and for a limited time, an $800 rebate on gas-to-electric geothermal conversions.  Geothermal heating and cooling is the most efficient comfort thanks to the nearly constant temperature of the Earth a few feet below the surface. Tubing buried in the ground circulates fluid that carries this warmth to the geothermal unit inside your home. The unit takes heat from the liquid, intensifies it using compression principles, and transfers heat to your home as warm air. A flip of the switch turns the geothermal unit into a cooling system. The system draws heat from your home and carries it, using the fluid in the tubing, back to the ground. It operates on the same principle as your refrigerator on a larger scale. Additionally, geothermal systems provide about 50 percent of your hot water. When you're air conditioning, your hot water is free!

Geothermal varieties
Geothermal systems can be installed in a variety of ways. You do not need a huge lot, a pond or a well. There are four types of geothermal systems based on how the liquid is utilized. Three systems are known as closed loop systems. This means the same fluid circulates in tubing over and over again in a sealed system. This pipe can be installed in a trench, a pond or holes drilled vertically. The fourth method involves using well water. This type of geothermal system is not recommended in northwest Ohio because of possible corrosion.

How much can you save?
Geothermal heating is three to four times as efficient as regular electric heat. A geothermal system can provide heating, cooling and hot water for half the cost of other equipment -- savings of $500-$800 per year are common. In fact, installation costs are decreased when factoring in the rebate we offer. Most homeowners find they recover the extra cost of a geothermal system in three to five years. Installation of a radio-controlled switch is required for rebate.
