2,000+ to receive free meal, giveaways, prizes
Bob Evans to appear at one of largest customer gatherings in NW Ohio -- all on webcast

Wednesday, September 7, 2005

Bob Evans will appear at what is believed to be the largest customer party in northwest Ohio, celebrating HWE’s Annual Meeting on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 1-3:30 pm at the Hancock Recreation Center in Findlay. Featured speaker at the event is Touchstone Energy COO Jim Bausell. Bob Evans will speak and also be on hand to sign autographs.

And this year, for the first time in company history -- and what is believed to be U.S. electric cooperative history -- HWE will broadcast its Annual Meeting via the Internet. Instructions are available at www.hwelectric.com.

Additionally, several local civic leaders will be on hand, and the company will offer a free buffet meal of BBQ beef sandwiches, pork chops, scalloped potatoes and more, to every single customer attending. What’s more, customers will receive a free limited-edition series coffee mug, patriotic calendar and memo board.

“Our strength comes from our members,” said President & CEO George Walton. “And over 2,000 people can’t be wrong. We look forward to celebrating our positive news and the cooperative spirit.”

Among other event highlights:

  • Elected officials present. Various local politicians/dignitaries expected in attendance.
  • Company report. Hear a report on the company’s status from President & CEO George Walton.
  • Food drive. Members are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the needy. All items go to the City Mission of Findlay and the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry.
  • Kids Fun Zone. While parents attend the meeting, kids can enjoy the huge outdoor tent complete with carnival games, giveaways and prizes.
  • Cash prizes. $1,000 in total cash prizes will be given away, including $300 for first place.
