Hancock-Wood to break ground for new building

NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - Ground will be broken Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 3:30 pm at the corner of CR 589 & SR 18 in North Baltimore for the new Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative (HWEC) headquarters, set to open summer 2008.

The brief ceremony will be hosted by President & CEO George Walton, and Board President Ed Crawford. At this time, among the speakers to be featured include State Representative Bob Latta. All building details, including design, computer renderings, layout and cost, will be unveiled at the event. HWEC members are invited, but must RSVP to info@hwelectric.com.

The building site in southern Wood County is located off I-75 at Exit 167, across from Love’s Travel Stop. There are two options for groundbreaking parking:

  1. Park at the Crown Inn located on SR 18. HWEC will have several vehicles available to shuttle people to/from the site; the distance is also walkable.
  2. Park along the edge of CR 589 as directed; law enforcement personnel will be present.
