Information on Hancock-Wood’s new building -- scheduled to open in 2008 -- and the unveiling of its new logo highlight the issues to be addressed at its Annual Meeting on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 8:30-11 am at The Cube (former Hancock Rec Center) in Findlay. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend, making it one of the largest customer gatherings in northwest Ohio. Featured speaker is comedian Jay Hendren, who will share many funny stories and tales about rural life in Ohio. The event theme, “Building for the Future,” will be addressed during the business meeting in two different reports/speeches.
And once again, HWE will webcast its event, and is believed to be the only electric cooperative in the nation to do so. Instructions are available at www.hwelectric.com.
Additionally, several local civic leaders will be on hand, and the company will offer a free buffet breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns and more, to every single person attending. What’s more, customers will receive a free limited-edition series coffee mug and other giveaways.
Among other event highlights:
- ACRE Booth - Visit our booth and sign up for the Action Committee for Rural Electrification.
- Company report. Hear a report on the company’s status from President & CEO George Walton.
- Food drive. Members are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the needy. All items go to the City Mission of Findlay and the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry.
- Kids Fun Zone. While parents attend the meeting, kids can enjoy the huge outdoor tent complete with carnival games, giveaways and prizes.
- Cash prizes. Over $1,000 in prizes will be distributed, including many prizes from businesses on our lines (complete list at hwelectric.com).
