NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - Once again, Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative will webcast its Annual Meeting, and is believed to be the only electric cooperative in the nation to do so. The event is Saturday, September 16, 2006 from 8:30-11 am.
“We’re excited to again offer this service,” said President & CEO George Walton. “After much success last year, we’re hoping to make it even better. We just think it’s a great way to stay connected to those members who can’t attend, or ones who have left our lines but remain supporters of the cooperative.”
Individuals with higher speed broadband connections (cable modem, DSL, etc.) can view the meeting in real-time over their computers by accessing the company’s website, where instructions are available: www.hwelectric.com. It is not best viewed with 56k modems. Anyone interested can download the free QuickTime player, which was chosen as the video player software because of its compatibility with both Windows and Apple systems.
Those attending in person will enjoy a free buffet meal, giveaways, prizes and an appearance by Miss Teen USA Allie LaForce; featured speaker is Sheldon C. Petersen, Governor and CEO of Cooperative Finance Corporation. About one week after the event, a downloadable file of the groundbreaking event will be available at hwelectric.com, which currently includes last year’s meeting as well.
