On Friday at Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative, members of all ages will get an opportunity to sit in an HWE line truck, try on equipment and see the company in action.
That’s because its electric customers are invited to “Family Fun Day,” a free open house-style event at its office on Friday, June 16 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at its North Baltimore office just off I-75 at exit 168.
“This event is another opportunity for Hancock-Wood to get the word out about what we do, because many members are still unfamiliar with the concept of a business owned by the people it serves,” said President & CEO George Walton. “Tradition must be learned, and Hancock-Wood has a proud one to share.”
Among the event highlights:
• Free hot dogs, chips, cookies, drinks (while supplies last)
• Giveaways and door prizes
• Kids activities
• Scheduled tours of the HWE office every 30 minutes
• See an HWE line truck from the inside
• Meet HWE employees
• See the cooperative in action
Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a member-owned, nonprofit electric Cooperative serving 12,700 members in 10 northwest Ohio counties, including Kelleys Island. More information is available at www.hwelectric.com.
