NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative (HWEC), serving 12,700 members in 10 northwest Ohio counties, has announced plans to establish a new office not far from its current location in North Baltimore.
This will expand space opportunities and improve efficiency, ultimately providing even better service to its growing membership. The new office will be located off the south side of State Route 18 in North Baltimore, west of I-75. HWEC plans to relocate its operation to the new facility in spring 2008.
“This is exciting news for Hancock-Wood,” said President & CEO George Walton. “We believe it positively affects every member in regard to service, efficiency and productivity. We will be a better, more productive company once this building is constructed. With the growth we have experienced over the past 10 years, it is much needed. And, we are excited to remain in the heart of our service territory where we have such a proud history.”
The design process is in its early stages, and it is anticipated that it will take about 15 months from this point until construction is complete. The project will provide additional office and warehouse space to address current and future needs as the electric distribution system continues to grow.
What’s more, the project will not impact rates thanks to steady company growth.
“There will be no rate increase as a direct result of this new building project,” said Walton.
