NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - 5:05 am - Outages have been reduced
overnight from 3,300 to 1,200 of Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative
(HWE) members without power. HWE does anticipate restoring
about 95% of these members sometime today.
The HWE system has about 30 broken poles (several along SR
30 in southern Hancock Co.), 80 locations with wires down,
and about 40 homes with fallen service wire. These projects
are time consuming, but with HWE crews working around the
clock and assistance from fellow cooperatives in Ohio, Michigan
and Kentucky, progress is being made. Most of the outages
continue to affect the same areas in southern Hancock County:
Arlington, Bluffton, Findlay, Jenera, Leipsic, Mt. Blanchard,
Mt. Cory, Van Buren and Vanlue.
Crews will continue to work on site to restore power to members
as quickly as possible. To report a hazardous pole or line
situation, or to report future outages, contact HWE at 888-417-3010.
Information on HWE is available at http://www.hwelectric.com.
