NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - This year, for the first time in company history -- and what is believed to be U.S. electric cooperative history -- Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative will broadcast its Annual Meeting via the Internet. The event is Saturday, September 17, 2005 from 2:15-3:30 pm.
“First and foremost, we wanted to provide a service to our members, but it’s also nice to make some history in the process,” said President & CEO George Walton. “We’re trying to reach out to those who can’t attend, and also to those former members with an allegiance to us, but have moved away. This is a great way to stay connected.”
Individuals with higher speed broadband connections (cable modem, DSL, etc.) can view the meeting in real-time over their computers by accessing the company’s website, where instructions are available. It is not best viewed with 56k modems. Anyone interested can download the free QuickTime player, which was chosen as the video player software because of its compatibility with both Windows and Apple systems.
You will be able to click here anytime after 12:30 pm on Sat., Sept. 17, 2005 to view the live webcast.

Those attending in person will enjoy a free buffet meal, giveaways, prizes and an appearance by restaurant founder and icon Bob Evans; featured speaker is Touchstone Energy COO Jim Bausell. About one week after the event, a downloadable file of the groundbreaking event will be available at hwelectric.com.
